Coach Austin was born and raised here in Anchorage and graduated from Dimond High School. He has been coaching sports in Anchorage for over a decade, first as a youth basketball coach for the YMCA of Alaska. Since then, he has coached numerous 17U and 18U teams for Midnight Sun Volleyball Club and has served as varsity head coach at Service since 2023.
Before stepping into the varsity head coach role, he served as a varsity assistant coach, JV head coach and C-Team coach at Service. In his spare time, he enjoys playing both indoor and outdoor volleyball, running, camping and watching sports, especially UAA basketball and volleyball. Outside of the gym, Coach Austin works in marketing at UAA. He has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in higher education.
Larssen Anderson, Kadyn Osborne, Paige Pederson, Bethany Tuchardt, Virgil Hooe, Ellen Floyd, Gina Burington, Thomas Casey
Coach Larssen played high school volleyball at Dimond High School and club volleyball for Midnight Sun Volleyball Club. She was a First-Team All-Conference pin hitter and led the Lynx in kills her senior year to cap off an undefeated season. She went on to play for Eastern Arizona College, and after a standout career for the Gila Monsters she signed with UAA, where she was a key contributor for the Seawolves as a right side hitter. Coach Larssen graduated with a degree in psychology from UAA. She has coached camps and clinics in both Alaska and Arizona and has worked locally as a youth volleyball coach and official. In her spare time she enjoys camping, watching movies or baking something sweet.
Coach Kadyn also played high school volleyball for Dimond High School and club volleyball for Midnight Sun. She was a two-time All-Conference selection and named the 2020 Gatorade Player of the Year after teaming up with Coach Larssen for an undefeated senior season. Coach Kadyn also played at Eastern Arizona where she received several All-Conference and All-Region awards, and she spent her last two years at UAA, piloting the Seawolves’ offense at the setter position. She graduated with a degree in Journalism and Public Communications. Coach Kadyn has coached locally for Midnight Sun and has also served as a youth volleyball official. In her spare time she enjoys working out, playing card games and watching sports.
Coach Paige played high school volleyball right here at Service! She graduated from SHS and has continued to give back to the program as a C-Team coach and through her work coaching countless camps and clinics held at Service High. In high school, she played for the Boys & Girls Club here in Anchorage. In addition to coaching at Service, she has coached for Boys & Girls Club as well as Midnight Sun Volleyball Club and has most recently served as a co-coach for an Elite National team for MSVB. In her spare time Coach Paige likes to spend time with friends and family, play volleyball and go to trivia nights.
Coach Bethany played four years of varsity volleyball for Battle Ground High School in her hometown of Battle Ground, Washington, where she also played for the NW Reign Volleyball Club. After high school, she signed to play collegiate volleyball for Highline College where she went on to be named an AVCA Second Team All-American and Northwest Athletic Conference West Region MVP. After her two years at Highline, Coach Bethany came north to Alaska after signing with UAA. She was a huge contributor on both pins in her two years at UAA. She graduated with a business degree from UAA and has worked locally as a youth volleyball official and a coach for various camps and clinics. In her spare time Coach Bethany loves to be outdoors in any weather. She also enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her puppy.
